Steven Norber
Steven Norber integrates a lifelong history of body awareness with an inquiry into what it means to be human. With a wide array of experience, including a career as a professional dancer (classical ballet), ballet instructor, physical therapy assistant, social service worker, counselor, neuromuscular therapist, and yoga instructor, Steven works with people to create an authentic space for health and wholeness. Steven holds a BA in psychology along with master's level psychology and education classes at the University of Colorado-Denver.
In 1999 Steven completed the certified and advanced program from the Center of Advanced Therapeutics in bodywork and neuromuscular therapy. In addition to maintaining a bodywork practice in both Denver and Broomfield, Steven taught neuormuscular therapy to massage therapists and a special course for physical therapists. Steven continues to offer anatomy and physiology training for yoga teachers.
Steven was introduced to yoga as academic study in 1976 during high school. A traumatic brain injury received in 1986 moved him ever more inward and eventually led him to France to study with Iyengar teacher Francois Raoult. Through this meeting it became clear to Steven that the path of Iyengar yoga had been waiting for him. Partnered with his teacher training with Nancy Stechert, Steven served as instructor for the anatomy & physiology component. A Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Steven has studied with the Iyengar's in Pune India, Rajiv and Swati Chanchani in Rajpur India, and attends teacher's classes offered by senior instructors in the United States.
Married in 1999, Steven and Kelly enjoy traveling, being in nature and, of course, yoga with their center "Living Yoga". Inspired by the love of music (albeit lacking musical talent), Steven has endeavored to keep music in his life through designing and manufacturing high end audio components with his company PranaFidelity.
